2024 Border Blasters, Tijuana/San Diego Radio & Television Desintegrador de Fronteras
An international exhibition and programming exploring the impact of TJ/SD radio/television/music on culture at the border. The exhibition, curated by Diana Benavídez, Bill Perrine and Itza Vilaboy, presents creatives utilizing sound and visuals to transcend the physical border. The exhibition includes installations by Baja and San Diego based artists. Many of us first experienced the border region through our radios and televisions. Border Blasters presents opportunities to explore the unique history and the impacts of the airwaves on people on both sides of the border.
Desintegrador de Fronteras: Exposición de Radio y Televisión es una exposición y programación que explora el impacto de la radio, televisión y música de TJ/SD en la región. La exposición, curada por Diana Benavídez, Bill Perrine, y Itza Vilaboy, presenta creativos que utilizan el sonido y las imágenes para trascender la frontera física. La exposición incluye instalaciones de artistas de Baja y San Diego. Muchos de nosotros encontramos por primera vez la región fronteriza por nuestros radios y televisiones. 2020 Sine Kwento: Film Stories
Filmmakers Benito Bautista and Emma Francisco of SD Filipino Cinema create an immersive cinematic experience including the art project Tela Nobela. Visitors to the exhibition will
experience film stories celebrating classic Philippine directors. Films, clothing, props and
photography document the historical significance of their films and the impact on contemporary
Filipino American filmmakers. Support from California Humanities.
2019 Anthropocene : Humans and Nature
Voice of San Diego article: Art and the Anthropocene at the Border
Anthropocene: Humans and Nature exhibition explores the era of dominant human effect on the Southern California and Tijuana landscape. Art installations at the Bonita Museum and Cultural Center (BMCC). The reception will host exhibiting artists as well as anthropogenic soundings by regional composers including Jeremy Field and Poet Gerda Govine.

Internationally known Maestro Jahja Ling, San Diego’s preeminent orchestra conductor laureate
and Bonita, California resident is the focus of this exhibition featuring personal letters,
video, and historical images from Ling's life. Visitors can explore LIng's time at Julliard, Yale, and the Tanglewood Music Center with teachers Mieczyslaw Munz, Otto-Werner Mueller, Leonard
Bernstein, Seiji Ozawa, and André Previn.

Performance documentation includes Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Whitney Houston at
Super Bowl XXV, Carnegie Hall with the San Diego Symphony, and performances with Yo-Yo
Ma and Lang Lang. Candid photos include international composers, conductors, and musicians. Ephemera from awards, such as the 1977 Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master
Competition in Israel and the 1978 Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow.

Exhibition explores Saint Phalle's fascination with mythical California including Queen Califia and the making of Queen Califia's Magical Circle sculpture park. The exhibition includes her Californian Diary series, original maquettes of totems, furniture, and a large scale model of the sculpture park. January 13 - March 4, 2018
