So excited to announce that along with the Mythical California exhibition we have a book about Niki de Saint Phalle and Queen Califia's Magical Circle. Saint Phalle's design studio was in El Cajon, CA. so it is an appropriate coincidence that the book designer Lydia D'moch is also from the same city. The 2018 publication has been approved by the Niki Charitable Art Foundation, published by the Escondido Public Art Commission with the California Center for the Arts, Escondido Museum and is available for purchase at the museum. The full color book featuring Niki's writing about California and the sculpture park also features artwork from the exhibition and photography by: Julie Bubar, Laurent Condominas, Lech Juretko, Larry Kline, Kurt Lightfoot, Philipp Scholz Rittermann, Norm Olson, Shunsuke Sakamaki, and Max Savin. It was a pleasure to be the editor on the project and to utilize Niki's strong voice to tell her story.
